Judith Gamble       Unbridled Creativity!

My mother loves to tell of the detailed eagle I drew at the tender age of three. (Unfortunately, the drawing was lost, so that even I have a hard time believing it! I don’t draw animals now!)

This did, however, convince my mother that it was her duty to support any artistic endeavor I chose to undertake. She even covered the wall next to my bed with butcher’s paper so that I could draw to my heart’s content without ruining the décor.

As a child, I was constantly drawing, painting, and being called to work on school art projects such as stage props and murals.

In high school, I earned my degree in Commercial Art at Dobbins Area Technical School in Philadelphia. I went on to study at Tyler School of Fine Art in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. I left school early to follow my husband into the army community where I found every opportunity to continue my creative ventures.

I took up oil painting and took first place in the oils category of an area art show. I also learned mold pouring and painting techniques to create unique ceramic pieces. After two years of creating and teaching ceramics, I turned my focus to the print industry as a layout artist and prepress technician. I also freelance as a desktop publisher, creating book layouts, brochures, posters, business stationary, etc.

This has sustained me to the present day, but my past love of drawing and painting has taken hold again.

Today, I’m enjoying the excitement of artistic exploration using traditional tools, computer tools and the blending of both.

Many of my images here are literally painted with computer brushes, pastels, and such. Occasionally, I use a filter or two for an interesting background touch.

I hope you enjoy my journey of artistic expression as much as I am!
